Google Maps – Directions

I’ve been exposed to some Google Maps development over the past few months. Therefore I like this xkcd:

But there’s something more I’d like to mention. Google does cool stuff, I guess most people would agree with that. There is Google Maps, GWT, App Engine and … well… Googles often attacked but not yet defeated search engine.
But… In some concerns Google is just as normal as many other corporations specifically due to my experience the enterprise support for Google Maps: response time about a week in average, which is not too bad. The content of the response is usually close to “will be fixed in next version”. If the bug is in the geocoding data, the release of this “new version” can take up to 6 months. That’s everything not really bad. Just not as glorious as what you usually read about Google in the news.
