While I was thinking about that stuff I got a copy of this article in my hands: How the Best of the Best Get Better and Better. Wow what a title, I read it anyway. And in fact there were some statements I liked which I’m going to quote here:
First: never say never:
[...] Which goes to show that in sport, as in business, the main obstacle to achieving “the impossible” may be a self-limiting mind-set
Second: Concentrate on yourself:
Top sports performers don’t allow themselves to be distracted by the victories or failures of others. They concentrate on what they can control and forget the rest.
Third: Think long-term, but set short term improvement goals.
Forth: Ask always for immediate feedback, but be careful that the feedback is somewhat useful for you.
